The Swedish Club of Houston will be hosting its first-ever Movie Night on Saturday, May 18, next to Valhalla (Rice University's Graduate Student Pub, not the great hall in Norse mythology where Odin receives the souls of heroes fallen bravely in battle), under the stars.

We will be showing As It Is In Heaven, in Swedish with English subtitles.  This movie was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the 2005 Academy Awards (click here to view the trailer). And, unlike Norse mythology, you don’t have to die in battle to arrive at Valhalla; you just have to find your way to the west side of Keck Hall, the chemistry building (click here for a campus map if you need one)! The parking rate in the Greenbriar Lot is $1 per entry per day, the parking rate in the other visitor lots is $1 per 12 minutes, $11 max per day.

Doors will open at 6 pm 7:30 pm, and we will start showing the movie between 8:10 pm and 8:30 pm (i.e. as soon as it's dark enough).
